IUI Treatment

IUI Pregnancy (Intra-Uterine Insemination)

IUI or Intrauterine Insemination is a laboratory procedure that is carried out so as to separate non-moving or sluggish sperm from the more fast moving ones. Upon retrieval, the fast moving sperm is placed within the womb of the woman. This placement is done near the days that the woman ovulates. IUI is generally recommended if infertility remains unexplained in a couple, if the woman suffers from ovulation issues or if the man suffers from premature ejaculation or impotency.

IVF Treatment

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) & associated treatments

In Vitro Fertilisation, in simple language, is growing, collecting and combining eggs with sperm in the laboratory to create embryos to be transferred to a woman's womb.

  • Medications are given over several days to stimulate egg production and prepare the womb to receive embryos .
  • Eggs are collected by a minor surgical procedure under ultrasound guidance.
  • Eggs are inseminated with sperm and then embryos are cultured in the laboratory, of which one or two are transferred to a woman's womb. Any remaining embryos will be frozen for possible use in later treatment cycles.

Associated treatments

  • ICSI is when a single sperm is injected into a single egg to achieve fertilization, specially indicated in cases where sperm count is substantially low or the quality is poor.
  • Blastocyst culture is when the embryos are grown for a longer duration in the laboratory, where they undergo critical developmental changes before being returned to the womb.
  • Assisted hatching is weakening the embryo shell to help them hatch before being transferred to the womb.
  • Surgical sperm retrieval is a minor surgical procedure to harvest sperm from the testicles.
  • Electro-ejaculation is a minor theatre procedure to overcome problems of erection and ejaculation.

Egg Donation

Egg donation is an infertility treatment process in which another woman provides eggs for the purpose of assisted reproduction for an infertile couple. These eggs are then inserted into the uterus of the recipient through in-vitro fertilization or IVF after the eggs are fertilized in a lab.

Sperm Donation

Sperm donation is a process in which a sperm donor (male) donates his sperm to a couple that is having trouble with conception due to abnormalities in the male partner. The intention is for the donated sperm to be used to achieve a pregnancy and produce a baby in a woman who does not engage in sexual activities with the donor. The sperm is basically introduced to the woman through artificial insemination or IVF India.

Surrogacy

Surrogacy is a sort of infertility treatment in which another woman will carry and give birth to a baby. The baby is then given away to the couple that wants the child. This IVF surrogacy treatment is meant for women who suffer from certain medical conditions, which deem it impossible or even dangerous for them to get pregnant and deliver a child.

Egg/sperm and Embryo Freezing

We offer comprehensive freezing programmes for eggs, sperm and embryos, which can be an appropriate option for some people, for example those starting cancer treatment or the ones who wish to make it a lifestyle choice. This is a complex subject and we would be happy to discuss this further with you. Please contact us for further information, advice and support.

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

Frozen Embryo Transfer means replacing thawed frozen embryos in the womb at the optimum time for implantation. FET drugs are used to prepare the womb to receive embryos at the appropriate time. This helps the woman avoid undergoing injections for growth of eggs again.

Surgical Sperm Retrieval

In surgical sperm retrieval, a number of procedures are available in order to acquire sperm from a man who tends to have difficulty in the production of sperm. As opposed to other procedures, this procedure removes sperm from inside a man's genitals rather than waiting for the sperm to be ejaculated out. The procedure is basically meant to help men that have either too little or no sperm at all in their ejaculate. As soon as the sperm is retrieved, it can be used in ICSI or IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection procedures.

Believe it or not, but nearly 10% of men that have problems relating to male infertility tend to have semen that does not have any sperm at all. This problem is caused by an absent vas deference, the tube that carries sperm to the penis, a blockage in the vas deference or even a blockage in the epididymis that connects the testes and the vas deferens. For men that produce healthy sperm in their testicles, retrieval through SSR is possible.

Laparoscopy and Hystereoscopy

A laparoscopy is basically a test that is carried out with the help of a small tube known as a laparoscope. This test makes it possible for the doctor to take a look at the outside of your uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. The entire procedure takes about 30 – 90 minutes and is basically used to figure out whether there is a blockage in the fallopian tubes or if you have scar tissues that might be causing fertility issues in you. On the other hand, a hysteroscopy utilizes a device known as a hysteroscope and is used to look inside your uterus. It takes about 10 minutes for the procedure to be performed, and is meant to determine abnormalities within the uterus.
